Berserker by Marc Gebauer is an Oriental Woody fragrance for men, launched in 2023 and created by perfumer Chris Maurice.

Dark, smoky, resinous, and commanding, Berserker is built around an overdose of frankincense, taking the note from the opening all the way through the drydown. Fresh eucalyptus and bergamot initially cut through the smoke before the fragrance descends into patchouli, cedarwood, sandalwood, vetiver, amber, vanilla, and musk.

The opening immediately establishes its personality. Frankincense releases a cool, resinous smokiness while pink pepper adds a sharp spark of spice. Eucalyptus brings an icy, aromatic freshness, and bergamot provides just enough citrus brightness to cut through the darker incense.

As Berserker develops, the smoke grows thicker. Another layer of frankincense meets earthy patchouli, dry cedarwood, and an unmistakable smoke accord. The fresher opening begins to disappear, replaced by something darker, woodier, and more atmospheric.

The base gives all that smoke a smoother foundation. Sandalwood introduces creamy warmth, vetiver adds a dry earthy edge, and amber provides resinous depth. A controlled touch of vanilla softens the composition without turning it gourmand, while musk creates a warm, lingering finish.
